The short answer is East Texas, Genealogy, and any story I find interesting.

For years I’ve been fascinated with old maps and photos, histories, crimes, you name it. I enjoy the process of research and writing these stories down. My goal is to preserve History, especially East Texas History.

That curiosity has led me to research families, schools, churches, businesses, communities, and individuals throughout East Texas. Some stories are well-known. Others have nearly disappeared from memory. And sometimes the most interesting history is found in the stories that never made it into a textbook.

That’s what I hope to share.

You may find posts about a particular East Texas family one week and an old school, church, business, cemetery, or community the next. You might see an old photograph and wonder who the people are, learn about someone whose name has largely been forgotten, or discover that a familiar place has a much longer history than you realized.
